20 years!
That really made me stop and think this week, realizing the 20th anniversary of 9-11 was today. I was just a young pup starting out in broadcasting when our news director ran in telling us to turn the tv on because a plane just crashed into the twin towers. Then we watched the second. And the fall. I had zero understanding of what terrorism even was. And no idea how the world would change so rapidly, forever.
This is one of my favorite photos of my travels. I adore NYC. As big and intimidating as I feared it would be… it always feels so welcoming & that you are one with the heartbeat of the city. I’ve visited the ground zero memorial, in awe of the heroic stories.
I would love to hear your story of 9-11. Where were you, what were you doing? What do you remember? Have you been to NYC? Like everyone else I watched countless interviews in the days, months, years. And the one sentence that always stood out “look for the helpers” — in any scary situation. And if you can’t see one? Be one.
Thinking of those thousands of families today.
